Because we have no pictures of NTM 2001, pictures of NTM 1998 in Lechfeld are used to demonstrate the formal events!
Official opening- and closing ceremony for the Tigermeet. All participants line up. After welcome/good-bye words by the Station Commander and/or attending generals the flags are risen/taken down. Besides the NATO flag is there the national flag for every participating nation.
Each participating squadron presents their nation, and/or their region, with traditional food and clothing. Qualitiy and Originality of the presented food go into the scoring for the "Silver Tiger Trophy".
During the tiger games the participating teams compete in an entertaining but challenging way against each other. The given tasks are sportive but always also entertaining for the spectators. What's mainly needed is good sensitivity a bunch of teamspirit. Fairplay is a major content although the temper is hot and fighting is tight. The results score for the silver trophy.
During this event each squdron presents itself, the daily duty, the airforce or anything else in a funny manner with a short play.
No Comment
As a sum up of all events, as well as the general behavior and the tiger attitude of all participating squadrons, the best of all is selected and receives the Silver Tiger which has to be handed off at the next tiger meet.
The origin of this procedure is for the moment not known to the author. On the call "dead bug" by any authorized member of the tiger community (mainly detachment or squadron commanders), all present tigers drop to the floor, turn onto their back and move their legs as it can be seen when a dead or dying bug moves its extremities in agony.
